Jill Musin Obituary

Jill Golofsky Musin passed away on August 1, 2022 in Parkland, Florida at her daughter’s home, her new home. Jill formerly lived in Clive, Iowa.

Jill was a fierce business woman, devoted mother, grandmother and friend.

Jill was born in Davenport, IA to Sharma (Bender) and Bert Golofsky on December 21, 1949. Jill grew up in Rock Island, Illinois, and graduated from the University of Arizona in Tucson. Jill was a business owner for over 40 years with the majority of those years in Des Moines, Iowa.

Jill was a generous and kind person, always fighting for the underdog. Jill supported too many organizations to name individually but her family and friends were her most cherished asset.

Jill is survived by her husband of 30 years Howard Musin, her children Robyn (Jason) McCaslin, Randi Schwartz (Chris) Carr, Aaron (Laura) Schwartz, Caroline (Neil) Berkowitz, and Suzanne Musin. Jill is also survived by her grandchildren Alyx, Zeke & Brodie Carr, Carter & Kuper Schwartz, and Shira & Elie Berkowitz. Grand dogs Roofus & Broono, Woodie, Brinkley, Beau, Sigma and Zephyr. Jill is also survived by her sisters Marla Howard and Tammie (Wayne) Close, many nieces, nephews, close family and friends who she considered close family.

Funeral services will be at Temple B’nai Jeshurun, 5101 Grand Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa 50312, at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 5, 2022 with final internment to follow in the Beth El section of Jewish Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines.

Instead of flowers please direct your donation to an organization of your choice. Jill’s favorite organizations included Temple B’nai Jeshurun Camp Fund, Planned Parenthood, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, or the Animal Rescue League of Iowa.
