Jim Boltz Obituary

Dr. James E. Boltz was greeted into his heavenly home on August 31st, 2024.

He was born on January 6th, 1947 to Robert Orrin Boltz and Ruth Ellen Boltz.

Jim had a wonderful, full life. After graduating from Drake University and the University of Iowa, Dr. Boltz enjoyed a 40 year career with his dental practice, specializing in family dentistry and was a member of the American Society for Dental Esthetics.

Jim was a true renaissance man, he was an accomplished pianist and organist. He had the astounding ability to play by ear any music he wished.

Jim loved to travel, he and Julian together visiting at least 68 countries, and some several times. Jim had an insatiable interest in different cultures, foods and architecture.

Dr. Jim loved to build; while at his cabin in Minnesota, building not only the cabin, but many "goofy" inventions.

He was also an exceptional baker and cook. He gained great joy by sharing his food and home with everyone. Most of all, Jim had a great faith. He dedicated his life to Christ at a very young age and always exhibited it through his gentle, loving and sincere way he interacted with everyone.

Dr. James E. Boltz is survived by Julian Rios and his family, sister Darlene Boltz Hanes, niece Tracey Ray Hughes and nephew Tommy Ray, great nephews, Ben Hughes and Lucas Ray, and great niece Camryn Hughes. Also many cousins and countless friends.

The home going of this gentle giant, Jim, has left a giant void in our lives.
