Judith McNamara Obituary

Judith Darlene McNamara, 82, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2024, at home in Des Moines, Iowa. Visitation will be 5-7pm, Monday, November 25, 2024 at Iles Westover Chapel with a rosary to follow. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am, Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, with additional visitation beginning at 10am at the church. Interment will be at Glendale Cemetery.

Judith was born March 22, 1942, in Des Moines, to Harold and Pauline (Kelley) Armstrong. She graduated from East High School. She married William McNamara on March 20, 1987. He preceded her in death on August 29, 2011.

Judith worked for Mid American Energy for 39 years, retiring in 2008. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rosary Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the American Colonists, Questers, Scottish Heritage Society and Young at Heart.

Judith devoted much of her retirement years volunteering for the Veterans Hospital in palliative and hospice care.

Judith is survived by her children, David (Cheryl) Harvey and Angie (Rick) Konradi; step children, Kathleen (Charles) Goldstein, Elizabeth Cann, Thomas (Karen) McNamara and Kevin McNamara; sister, Donna Westhues; 12 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Patricia Audsley, Floyd Naylor, Benjamin Miller, Richard Miller and Jeff Miller.
