Obituary

Judy Kay Erickson, 75, of Dallas Center, Iowa passed away on February 7, 2024 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center surrounded by her loved ones. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at the Dallas Center Church of the Brethren beginning at 11 am. A visitation will be an hour prior at the church. Lunch will follow the service at the Roy Estle Memorial Library in Dallas Center. Interment will take place at Dallas Center Brethren Cemetery.

Judy Erickson was born on June 26, 1948 to Harvey and Phyllis (Hueckstedt) Erickson in Davenport, Iowa. She graduated from Davenport West High School in 1966 then Iowa State University in 1970 where she double majored in Math and Economics. She married Karl Eby on February 27, 1982 and they made their home on their farm outside of Dallas Center. Judy worked for the Iowa Workforce Development as the Labor Market Information Bureau Chief for 34 years before retiring in July of 2004.

Judy loved to go on cruises, especially seeing Alaska, and play bridge at the bridge club.

Judy is survived by her husband of almost 42 years, Karl Eby; brothers-in-law, Bill (Karen) Eby and Charlie Eby; Sister-in-law, Jean Eby; stepmother, Ruth Rolland; and nieces and nephew. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law, Paul Eby; sister-in-law Diane Eby; and stepfather, Richard Owen.
