Judy was born the daughter of Richard H. and Margaret L. Rolow Casey on January 3, 1928 in Des Moines. She was a 1945 graduate of St. Joseph's Academy. On November 20, 1948, Judy married John J. She was a former member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church, where she had belonged to the Altar and Rosary Society and St. Theresa's Catholic Women's League. For ten years, she also shined as a Reading Mentor Volunteer for First through Third Graders at Findley Elementary School in Des Moines.

She is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband of 63 years, Jack Donahue; children, Linda (Pat) Glynn of Davenport, IA, Sheila (Mark) Douglas of West Des Moines, Dan (Cheryl) Donahue of Davenport, Julia (Rich Bernstein) Donahue of Omaha, NE, and Mary (Dan) Breidinger also of Davenport; and 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
