Julie Olson Obituary

We are sad to announce that Julie Olson, age 54, died May 18, 2023 of breast cancer. A dedicated mother, attentive sister and daughter, loyal cousin, compulsive organizer, 28-year Farm Bureau employee, Facebook Master, disseminator of family news, and lover of People Magazine and babies, she left us far sooner than she wanted to, or than any of us were ready for.

She is predeceased by grandparents she was always so kind to. She is survived by the loves of her life, son Brian England and daughter Liz Olson, as well as parents Gene and Jean Olson, siblings Jackie (Steve) Emery, and Jeff (Kim) Olson, and so many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews, all of whose addresses and birthdays she knew by heart.

We are confident Julie is already busy in Heaven texting her relatives in residence, getting their latest news and updating the family address book.

A service will be held at Iles-Dunn's Chapel, 2121 Grand Ave in Des Moines on Thursday, May 25, at 2:00 pm with visitation beginning at noon.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
