Services for Justin will be live-streamed from this page starting at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, September 20th.

Justin Robert Waldron passed away at Methodist Hospital on September 10th, 2022. Justin was born on October 10, 1977, in Des Moines, Iowa to Delinda Doty Waldron and Robert James Waldron, Jr. Justin lived in the Des Moines area his early years, moving to Omaha, Nebraska in 1986 and then to Denver, Colorado in 1992. Justin graduated from Chatfield High School, in Littleton Colorado, Class of 1997.

Justin started playing hockey in 1982, when he was 5 years old, in what is now called the Buccaneer Arena in Des Moines, Iowa. He loved hockey and played there until our move to Omaha, Nebraska in 1986. He continued playing hockey in Omaha and became the Goalie on the AAA Junior Lancer Team. The move to Denver in 1982 offered a lot more options for hockey. Justin played defense on the Avada Hockey Team; Denver University Youth Hockey Team ended up playing for the Family Sports Hockey Team. His first jobs were at Albertsons, Sam’s Club, and Costco. Finally, hockey won out and he started working at Family Sports, in 1999, driving the Zamboni and working around the rink. The extra benefit to that was he was able to play at lot more golf. Justin’s other passion was snowboarding and skiing. Justin volunteered at National Sports Center for the Disable at Winter Park, Colorado for 11 years. Justin taught spinal cord injury people how to ski and the bi-ski and the mono-ski. He was always interested in helping people anyway he could. While working at Family Sports he started coaching hockey. He started with in-house teams with the 8 and under kids. He loved working with kids that was so eager to learn. Justin progressed from there until he started coaching for the 2003-2004 AAA Team Colorado and went on to coach for the AAA Thunderbirds program in Colorado for close to 15 years. There he found his true passion and love for the sport. In 2001, Justin started working for Cherry Creek School District as a Security Specialist, he had 21 years with the school. He also coached hockey at the high school level.

Justin loved to travel, and coaching hockey gave him the opportunity to see Canada, Alaska, and a lot of the United States. Justin enjoyed trips to Hawaii, Mexico, Lake of the Ozark, and the Lakes of Minnesota.

Justin befriended anyone and everyone and always knew how to put a smile on someone’s face. He was the rock of his family and friends, and he will be deeply missed by his loved ones. Justin spent his life giving everything he could to others. You will need to read some of the tributes on Social Media written to Justin. He was a wonderful man and gave much to the sport of Hockey in Colorado and Minnesota.

Justin is survived by his mother, Delinda Doty Waldron, of Norwalk, Iowa, and his brother, Tanner Doty, of Littleton, Colorado. Along with his 7 aunts, 1 uncle, 17 cousins, and 3 dogs.

He is preceded in death by his father, Robert J. Waldron, Jr and grandparents Dorman and Darlene Doty, and Robert and Ester Waldron.
