Karen was born on November 8, 1956 to Virgil and Betty Saunders in Des Moines Iowa. She graduated from Johnston High School in 1975. Karen moved to Cumming in 1979 where she raised her family and was an active member of the community before moving to Norwalk in 2000. Karen retired as a Postmaster in 2011 from the United States Postal Service where she held various positions over her 24-year career

Karen shared 18 beautiful years of marriage with the love of her life, her devoted husband, Ron Krebs. From the day they married on August 14, 2004, their bond was built on love, laughter, and unwavering support. They were the center of her world and the source of her deepest happiness. Her faith was a constant light in her life, guiding her with strength and peace. As a devoted member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, she lived each day with grace, kindness, and a heart full of love.
