Obituary

Kelly Jay Pigg, 38, passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2005 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2005 at Rising Sun Church of Christ. Private burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Kelly was born the son of Joy C. (Schaff) and William J. Pigg in Des Moines on August 14, 1966. He graduated from East High School in 1984, played baseball at DMACC in Boone, then moved to Alabama to further his college baseball career. After graduating, Kelly moved to Dyersburg, TN where he worked for Sara Lee and along with his wife, Lori began raising their family. After their daughter, Kelsey was born, they returned to Alabama where their son, William was born. They returned to Iowa in 1998 to be closer to family. Kelly worked at Pepsi Americas and enjoyed his many friends, including those in his neighborhood. Among Kelly's greatest loves were his children, family, coaching baseball and being involved with Kelsey's sports.

Kelly is survived by his wife, Lori; daughter, Kelsey; son, William; step- father, Fay L. Hodges, Jr. of Des Moines; sister, Becki Bieghler (Dennis) of Waukee; step- grandmother, Alice Hodges of Des Moines; parents-in-law, Donald and Charlotte Anderson of Waukee; sister-in- law, Jody and Jim Cleven of Waukee; nieces and nephews, Tyler and Hailey Bieghler, Tiffany and Nicholas Cleven; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, William Jay Pigg; mother, Joy C. Hodges; grandparents, and several aunts and uncles.

In lieu of flowers a trust fund has been set up for Kelly's family and memorials may be given to Kelly Pigg Memorial Trust, Waukee State Bank, 45 N. Warrior Lane, Waukee, IA 50263

Kelly was blessed to be able to donate his organs to give the gift of life to others.
