Kristie Allen Obituary

Terry and Anna Allen lost their beloved daughter Kristie V. Allen when she was selfishly and brutally taken from us unexpectedly on January, 18, 2023 in her home in Windsor Heights, Iowa as a victim of domestic homicide. Kristie had so much life left to live, but her boyfriend extinguished her bright light as he took her life. She was a sweet, loving and wonderful woman victimized by someone she had loved and trusted in her very own home. Kristie deserved better and she would want us all to know that each and every one of us deserve better.

Kristie’s life began on September 15, 1977 born to her dad, Terry and mom, Vicki in Des Moines, Iowa. She attended school in Urbandale with two of her sisters, Lori and Nichole. Throughout Kristie’s life she had a great passion for not only her family but her friends and her animals. Oscar Meyer is her loving dachshund. He was her loyal constant companion and confidant.

Kristie was a cherished daughter who not only continued to work as a part time dog groomer but worked for her dad for over ten years at Terry’s Wholesale Exhaust in Clive Iowa. She not only ran the office but was her dads right-hand.

Kristie may have passed but her memory will always be in the hearts of her family and especially her sisters and brother-in laws; Nichole, Lori (Brad), Carrie and Wendy (Dario). But where she really shined was as a doting aunt to Cassidy, Scarlette and Shadaus. Kristie will also be remembered by every member of her AA community whose lives she not only touched over the years but a community in Des Moines that saved her life. She will be missed every day by so many including all of her customers at Terry’s that she loved and looked forward to helping everyday that she worked.

The Allen Family wishes to thank every Windsor Heights and DCI officer who took care of our daughter that awful day and who also took care of Anna and I.

A visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at Iles Dunn’s Chapel, 2121 Grand Avenue, Des Moines, IA. Services will take place Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at 11 a.m. also at Iles Dunn’s Chapel.

Kristie was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents and her mother, Vicki Allen. Kristie’s greatest love of her life was and always will be her beloved Katie.

Memorials in memory of Kristie may be made to an Animal rescue/shelter of your choice.
