Obituary

Larry Christensen, 49, of Norwalk, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2009, after a difficult battle with Multiple Myeloma cancer. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 12, at Iles Funeral Homes – Dunn's Chapel, located at 2121 Grand Avenue, in Des Moines. The memorial service will be a celebration of the funny and positive side of Larry's life. We request that anyone attending please dress in casual clothing like Larry did most of the time. Larry also requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Boy Scouts of America (BSA) Troop 301 in Norwalk. Contributions may be dropped off at Scott's Foods (Scott Havens is a strong member of the BSA) or may be mailed to the Norwalk City Bank in Norwalk, Iowa 50211.

Survivors include his wife, Cindy; and sons, Jeffrey and Brandon, all of Norwalk; parents, Marvin and Lucille Christensen of Gilmore City, IA; sisters, Marcia (Carl) Porter of Colorado Springs, CO and Judy (Larry) Skibsted of Galva, IA; and two nephews and two nieces. Larry was preceded in death by his brother, Eddie Christensen; and one nephew, James Porter.
