LeRoy Forrest Obituary

LeRoy D. Forrest passed away on Friday, November 28, 2014, at Valley View Village in Des Moines. A memorial visitation will be held December 4, 2014, Thursday evening, from 5-7 pm at Grandview Park Funeral Home. Burial will be at Iowa Veterans Cemetery at a later date.

LeRoy was a bricklayer and member of Union Local #3, as well as a past member of Za-Ga-Zig Shrine Keystone Cops. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes and St. Louis Cardinals fan, rarely missing a game. He loved to watch NASCAR, but especially enjoyed the Friday night races at the fairgrounds. He was an extraordinary craftsman. There was not anything he could not build or fix. His grandkids and great granddaughters were the pride of his life.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sheryl, of 58 years; his sons, David and Greg; daughter, JoLynne (Davey); grandchildren, Marcie, Chad, and Ashley; great grandchildren, Jozlynne and Sierra Lynne; two sisters, Nancy and Helen from California; and brother, Lewis from Grimes.
