Linda Ulrick Obituary

Linda Elaine Ulrick, 76, passed away July 11, 2024, at EveryStep Kavanaugh Hospice House in Des Moines. She was born August 11, 1947, in Forest City, Iowa to Randolph and Marjorie (Hodson) Thorland.

Linda was a graduate of Albert Lea High School in Albert Lea, MN and later received her AA at the Hamilton's Business College in Mason City, IA. For many years she worked as a bookkeeper at Central Iowa Pool & Spa in Des Moines and Colby Interests in Windsor Heights.

Linda met Duane Lee Ulrick, and, in the spring of 1969, they married, and to that union two sons were born, Chad and Cory. She enjoyed gardening and watching the birds. Linda loved traveling with Duane, going on cruises in the Southern Caribbean waters and visiting all the islands.

Linda is survived by her loving husband, Duane; son, Chad Ulrick; grandchildren, Grace and Addison; brothers, Osmund Thorland and Brian Thorland; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; Son, Cory on August 11, 2020; sister, Wanda Rogstad and brother, Spencer Thorland.

Visitation will be 10 AM - 11 AM Thursday, July 18, 2024, at Iles Westover Chapel, 6337 Hickman Road with the funeral service starting at 11 AM. Burial will follow at 1:30 PM in South Marion Cemetery, Stratford, IA.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa or EveryStep Kavanagh Hospice House.
