Obituary

Lois Evelyn Brown, born in Cleveland, Ohio, on January 30, 1934, passed away peacefully after 91 beautiful years filled with love, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family and community.

She is survived by her beloved children: Ruth and Abe Wolf, Geoff and Elissa Brown, and Judy and Joey Levenson. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Daniel and Shimrit Wolf, Joey Wolf, & Amy Brown, Teva and Andy Clark, Korenet Brown & Orhys Brown, Levi and Nofit Brown, and Avi and Natalie Levenson. Lois was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Matan and Ori Wolf, Etan and Arlo Brown-Wolf, Draven Clark, Bobbi Rose and Orhys Jr. Brown, Roark Brown, & Elliott Levenson.

Lois was a caregiver extraordinaire—her warmth, compassion, and boundless hospitality touched the lives of all who knew her. Her home was filled with the comforting aromas of her legendary baking and cooking, and always open to friends, family, and anyone in need of a meal or a warm bed. Friends and family were often treated to an evening of Broadway music with her family around the piano.

She was married to her childhood sweetheart, Richard Brown, with whom she shared a lifetime of love until his passing in 2009. Together, they built a rich life in Des Moines, where Lois was deeply involved at Tifereth Israel Synagogue and its choir. She also served for many years as an administrative assistant at the Bureau of Jewish Education, where her dedication left a lasting impact.

In her final years, Lois was lovingly cared for at Springtree Rehabilitation & Health Care Center and by VITAS Hospice in Sunrise, Florida. Her family is deeply grateful for the compassion shown by those who supported her during this time.

A funeral service will be held at Tifereth Israel Synagogue, 924 Polk Blvd.,11:00 am to honor and celebrate the life of a woman of valor- a true Ashet Chayil.

Donations may be made to the Jewish Family Services in Des Moines or the March of the Living Jewish Federation of Broward County.

Arrangements by Iles Dunn's Chapel.
