Obituary

Lorene Chapman, 84, passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at home from complications of cancer. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, April 28, 2006 at Waukee United Methodist Church. Graveside services will be held 3:30 p.m. at Bonaparte Cemetery in Bonaparte, Iowa.

Lorene was born December 18, 1921 in Bonaparte, Iowa, where she lived until moving to Waukee in 1990. She was a cook at the Harmony School District and Van Buren County Hospital. Lorene was a member of the Waukee United Methodist Church, Royal Neighbors of America and had been a 20 year member of the Bonaparte Cemetery Association. She enjoyed bowling and playing cards. While living in Bonaparte, Lorene had been a member of the United Church.

Lorene is survived by her children, Betty (Jim) DeWitt of Waukee, Janet (Bo) Givens of Oelwein, Robert (Donna) Chapman of Lakeland, FL and Randy Chapman of Davenport; her brother, Glen (Flip) Wilson of Mason City, Iowa; sister-in-law, Coleen Wilson of Bethany, MO; twelve grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and two great-great- grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Lee Chapman; grandson, Jerry Joe DeWitt and brother, Richard Wilson.

Visitation begins after 4 p.m. Thursday at the Waukee United Methodist Church, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Central Iowa, Bonaparte Cemetery, or to the family at P.O. Box 363, Waukee, Iowa 50263.
