Obituary

Louis "Petey" Banks, 63, died Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 21 at the Basilica of St. John. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery.

Louis was born in Sioux City on February 2, 1943. He was a retired railroad engineer and served in the Air Force during Viet Nam. He was awarded two Bronze Stars. His memberships included the Urbandale American Legion Post No. 663.

Louis is survived by his wife, Isabella Hurless-Banks; two daughters, Desiree Stancil and Michelle (Charles) Hill; three step sons, Dale Clayton, Anthony Clayton and James Hurless; brother, Cecil (Margo) Banks; sister, June Marie Stevens; five grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other family members; and very special friends, Pat Amadeo and Liz, Bruce and Dakota Tennant. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Mary Louise (Watkins) Banks, Jr. and his brother, Joseph Banks.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Iles Funeral Homes, Dunn's Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice in Johnston.
