Marguerite Catherine Johnson, 89, formerly of Decatur, IL, passed away on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at Bishop Drumm Retirement Home in Johnston. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 8, at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Urbandale, where the family will greet friends for one hour prior to the mass time on Wednesday. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 10, at Graceland Cemetery in Decatur, IL.

Marguerite was born on April 28, 1923 in Waterloo, Iowa to John Joseph and Cecelia Susan (Pint) Reuter. On November 23, 1949, she married Fred Johnson in Mason City, IA, and he preceded her in death on June 19, 1978. Marguerite was formerly employed as a clerk with the Decatur Police Department for 17 years, retiring in 1984. Following her retirement, Marguerite became the Activities Director at McKinley Court Nursing Home for four years. In 1992, she moved to the Des Moines are, where Marguerite was a member and volunteer of St. Pius X Catholic Church. She also volunteered countless hours at USA Healthcare - Urbandale, and with Bishop Drumm Guild.

She is survived and lovingly remembered by her son, David (Joyce) Johnson of Decatur, IL; two daughters, Ann E, Johnson of Desota, IA and Mary Jo (Philip) Hebert of New Sharon, IA; two sisters, Joanne (Vincent) Coyle of Spearfish, SD and Marlene Reuter of Glendale, AZ; four grandchildren, Kathy (James) Lear, Karen (Dan) Greer, Sarah (Jeremy) Dunn and Brian (Stephanie) Hebert; nine great-grandchildren, Kristin, Megan (Mitch) Earhart, Ashley, Jesse, Colton, Ryan, Allison, Noel and Daylen; two great-great-grandchildren; and two very dear friends who are like family, Linda Westfall and her son, Matt Westfall. In addition to her husband, Marguerite was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Vincent Reuter and Wilfred Reuter; three sisters, Rosemary Reuter, Delores Reuter and Marilyn Young; and one son, Paul Johnson.
