Obituary

Marijean Sears, 84, Urbandale, Iowa died Friday, January 31, 2025 at her home in Deerfield Retirement Community. She was born March 22, 1940 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Francis Joseph & Dorothy Pauline (Infelt) Donahoe.

Marijean was raised and educated in Des Moines, graduating from Roosevelt High School. She was employed as a library associate with the Des Moines Public Schools for many years, and was a member of the Des Moines Education Association.

Marijean will be missed by her sons Richard Dean Sears and Nicholas Gene Sears; sister Maggie Davis; brothers Charles Colwell and John Colwell; and great granddaughter Isabella Stangl.

Preceding her is death were parents Francis & Dorothy Donahoe and brother John Nicholas Donahoe.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, April 11, 2025, 10:00am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 2926 Beaver Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa 50310.
