Obituary

Marilyn (Mick) Hills, 50, passed away on March 15, 2005, at Taylor House, after a courageous eleven-year battle with Breast Cancer. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 19 at Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines.

Marilyn was the daughter of Virgil and Louise Sackett of Des Moines. She was born July 4, 1954 in Greenfield Iowa. Marilyn lived most of her life in the Des Moines area and was a graduate of Des Moines Technical High School. She married Steven Kadner in 1972. Together they had two daughters, Stacy and Tammra. She married her second husband, Ernie Hills, in 1986. He has two daughters.

Marilyn was employed with Iowa Health Physicians as a Reimbursement Analyst. She was member of Lutheran Church of Hope and was a Stephens Minister. Her life has been dedicated to helping others. She was an EMT on the Delaware TWSP Fire/Rescue for several years and recently went on mission trip to Jamaica.

She was an instrument and tool of Gods Faith, Hope, and Love. His light shined through her.

Left behind to celebrate her life are her daughters, Stacy Kadner of Ankeny and Tammra (Brian) Swartwood of West Des Moines; her parents, Virgil and Louise Sackett of Des Moines; two sisters, Jeanne Sackett of Ankeny and Susan Mascaro of Altoona; three nephews; two nieces; three great-nephews; and two great-nieces.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernie Hills.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Lutheran Church of Hope.
