Obituary

Marjorie A. Hannam, 70, passed away, Saturday, May 31, 2008 at Kavanagh House in Des Moines, IA. A memorial mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

Margie was born April 24, 1938 in Mystic, Iowa, the daughter of Lawrence and Jennie Howe. Raised in Mystic, Margie left at age 18 and moved to the Des Moines and Urbandale areas where she lived the rest of her life.

Margie married Dean Hannam on November 23, 1957. Two daughters and a son were born to this union, Kamela Camp, Michelle Nolen and Mark Hannam.

Margie was a sales associate for 20 years at Von Maur Department Store at Valley West Mall and was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Urbandale. Margie was athletic, enjoyed golfing and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Margie is survived by her husband of 50 years, Dean Hannam of Urbandale, IA; daughter Kamela (Michael) Camp of Plano TX; son, Mark (Debbie) Hannam of West Des Moines, IA; daughter Michelle (Thomas) Nolen of Centralia, IL; brother Jim Howe and his wife Bev of Ottumwa, IA; sister Winnie Ragona and her husband Andrew of Centerville, IA; sister Betty Jo Thompson of Des Moines, IA; sisters-in-law Peggy Howe of Centerville, IA; Ella (Charles) Fisk, Mary Jo (Gene) Navin, Darlene (Phil) O'Brien and Norma Hannam; grandchildren: John Scaglione, Des Moines, IA; Jennifer Stillman, Austin, TX; Joseph Wilson and Jeana Wilson, Plano, TX; Joslyn and Jessica Hannam of Urbandale, IA; Mark Jr. and Mikayla Hannam of West Des Moines, IA; Julia Nolen, Centralia, IL; great-grandchildren: Asher, Jacqueline and Alexander Scaglione of Des Moines, IA;

Visitation will be held 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Westover Funeral Home with a 7 p.m. Vigil Service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials for Margie be directed to Hospice of Central Iowa, West Des Moines, IA, and St. Pius X Catholic Church, Urbandale, IA.
