Marshall J. "Bud" Zieser died on October 9, 2004 at the Kavanagh House in Des Moines. Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, October 14 at the Congregational Church in Belle Plaine. With burial 4 p.m. Thursday at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.

Bud was born in Walker, IA, but lived most of his life in Belle Plaine. He was a retired sales manager, and during his retirement he worked in renovating investment properties. He served our country in the US Navy during WWII. He joined the Navy right after graduating from High School in Center Point, IA. After the war, he attended the University of Iowa where he received his Bachelor's of Arts degree and was a member of the wrestling team. He was also a member of the Belle Plaine American Legion. Bud loved spending time with his family, playing poker and fishing.

He is survived by his daughters, Marcy (Jim) Schulze and Liz (Marty) Willis all of Clive, IA; son, John Stanley (Adele) Zieser of West Des Moines, IA; grandchildren: Meggan and Ben Schulze; Jodi and Natalie Kincaid; John, Philip and Allison Zieser; great-granddaughter, Kaeli Kincaid; brothers, Clarence "Buzz" Zieser of Cedar Rapids, IA and Stan Zieser of Center Point, IA; and Lorraine Zieser of West Des Moines.

The family will receive friends, during the luncheon at the church, immediately following the funeral on Thursday. Memorial contributions may be left to Boys Town Nebraska, 68010 or Hospice of Central Iowa.
