Obituary

Mary Terese (Kieler) Bleimehl, 78, of Urbandale, IA, formerly of Mt. Dora, FL, passed away on Thursday morning, September 11, 2014 at the Mercy Hospice in Johnston.

Mary was born November 7, 1935 in Des Moines, IA, the daughter of George F. and Frances (Riley) Kieler. She was a graduate of St. Joseph Academy in Des Moines, and attended Ottumwa Heights College in Ottumwa, IA. In the early 1960's, Mary began a professional career with IBM, where she met the love of her life, Edward Charles Bleimehl III. Mary and Ed were married on October 14, 1961 at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Des Moines. After marrying, she devoted her life to beginning and nurturing her family, taking great pride in watching them flourish. Mary was generous with her time through many activities in support of her children's schools and throughout the communities where she lived. Some highlights of her volunteer service included working on the Papal Visit to Des Moines, the Agape Crisis Pregnancy Center of Des Moines, and the Hospice Hope Chest in Mt. Dora, FL.

She will be greatly missed by her loving family that includes her husband, Ed; two daughters, Carolyn (Jerry) Rainey and Julia Bleimehl all of Urbandale; two sons, Edward (Bridget) Charles Bleimehl IV of Des Moines and Terry Bleimehl of Urbandale; seven grandchildren, Loral, Matthew, Christopher and Kate Rainey, Natasha (Jason) Bovee, Edward (Michelle) Charles Bleimehl V and Nicklaus Bleimehl; six great-grandchildren, Fiona, Aubrey, Lailie, Edward Charles VI, Sophie and Josephine; sister, Madeline (Robert) Harlan of Green Bay, WI; brother, John (Anna) Kieler of Des Moines; two sisters-in-law, Judy (Ellis) Kahn of Kewaskum, WI and Maureen Kieler of West Point, IA; and many nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded into eternal life by her infant son, Timothy George; infant daughter, Susan Mary-Kathryn; parents, George and Frances Kieler; and one brother, Dan Kieler.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, September 15, at Iles Westover Chapel in Des Moines, where a Vigil Service will begin at 7 p.m. Cremation rites will follow the Vigil Service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 16, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, in Urbandale, IA. A private committal service will take place at a later date at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Northbrook, Illinois.

The Family wishes to thank Mary's caring Doctors, and the wonderful staff of UnityPoint Health, Deerfield Healthcare Center and Mercy Hospice of Johnston for all their care and support through her courageous battle with cancer and hip replacement.
