Muriel Molumby, 86, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2005 at the USA Healthcare in Urbandale. Private services will be held today at Westover with cremation to follow. A final service will be held at a later date in North Hollywood, California.

Muriel was born on a farm near Howard, South Dakota on November 27, 1919 to her parents, Richard and Sarah Bergheim. She was the eldest of eight children. She is survived by her sister, Sylvia Tow of West Des Moines; a brother, Richard Bergheim (Jocelyne) of Venice, Florida; a sister, Norma Selix of Huron, South Dakota; four nephews, five nieces, many great-nieces and nephews, and special friend, Mary Margaret Feteke of Studio City, California.

Muriel lived in Storm Lake, IA prior to moving to Glendale, California with her daughter in 1962. She developed many loving friends, and worked for 40 years as a bookkeeper for an air conditioning company in Burbank. She also enjoyed seeing her daughter’s acting career develop until her sudden death in a car accident in 1982. Following retirement, Muriel enjoyed the company of her friends in travels to Norway and Alaska. She had a warm heart for cats and dogs, as there were many she loved over the years.

She enjoyed her family and the new friends she had met at Senior Suites of Urbandale, and looked forward to the many activities there. She was very appreciative of her doctors and nurses at Mercy Hospital for helping to make her 86th Birthday celebration a nice event on Sunday, November 27.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Mary Kathryn and four brothers. Memorials may be made to St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3663 66th Street, Urbandale, IA.
