Obituary

Myron N. Hull, 93 years young, passed away peacefully at Methodist Medical Center on November 15, 2024 surrounded by his family and a close friend. Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. on Friday, November 22 at Iles Grandview Funeral Home. Following the visitation, there will be a memorial service beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment will take place at a later date at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Adel, Iowa.

Myron was born on December 24, 1930 in Des Moines, Iowa to Fred and Gail Hull. Myron married his high school sweetheart, Wilma Hart on November 8, 1952 and they spent their first two years of married life stationed in Alaska where Myron served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. They moved back to Des Moines where they raised their two children Neil and Norine.

Myron attended East Des Moines High School and graduated in 1949. For many years Myron was a Sunday school teacher and helped out in various other capacities at the Salvation Army Citadel Corps (Church). He was employed by EMC Insurance Company until the day he retired. He loved his job and had great respect for those he worked with. After retirement, he spent his time with his wife playing card games, traveling and spending time with their grandchildren. Myron enjoyed life and had fun wherever he went and no matter who he was with. His family has very fond memories and will miss him greatly.

Myron is survived by his daughter, Norine Vlieger, granddaughters Stacey Hull, Katie Hull (Chris Ilder), Felicia Fugate (Tyler); grandsons, Collin “C.J.” Vlieger (Tanya) and Tim Vlieger; great grandsons, Ryan Hull, Roman Vlieger and Sullivan (Sully) Vlieger as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Myron was preceded in death by his wife Wilma and his son Neil E Hull.
