Nadine Warner, of the 4000 block of Grand Avenue, died September 30, 2004 at Hospice Kavanagh House. Private family service will be at the Cownie Chapel at Central Presbyterian Church, with burial at Des Moines Masonic Cemetery. A memorial visitation for friends is from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, October 4 at Dunn's Funeral Home.

Nadine was born October 9, 1919 and lived in Adel until twelve years old. Her father was pastor of the Adel Christian Church. During church services she could see the county courthouse clock and her duty was to signal her father when he had preached for ten minutes. Each summer the church parsonage arranged for the family to spend a month at Gull Lake. She often mentioned the great times she had growing up in Adel. When Nadine was 13, the family moved to Des Moines when her father left the ministry and became the manager of Dunn's Funeral Home.

Nadine attended Hanawalt Grade School, Roosevelt High School and Drake University. She was a member of Central Presbyterian Church, sustaining member of the Des Moines Junior League and member of PEO and Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She was a positive person and remained active in her later years with her friends and gardening along with a keen interest in current events.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Wefel W. and her daughter, Janet Taylor, along with six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Bill Warner.

Gifts can be made in her memory to Hospice of Central Iowa or Central Presbyterian Church.
