NancyLee Joslin Obituary

NancyLee Marie Joslin, 90, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2024 at Arbor Springs, West Des Moines, Iowa. Cremation rites have been accorded. Visitation for friends and family will be held from 9-10:00 a.m., Friday, September 27, 2024 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, Des Moines. A memorial service will follow beginning at 10am. Private interment will be at North Lawn Cemetery, Fort Dodge, Iowa.

Nancy was born June 19, 1934 in Fort Dodge, Iowa to John and Elizabeth (Alpers) Blaha. She graduated from Fort Dodge High School, where she met the love of her life, Gene L. Joslin. They were united in marriage on November 22, 1953 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Fort Dodge. They had four children, Steven, Jeffrey, Scott and Karen.

Nancy and Gene resided in Fort Dodge where Nancy worked as a bookkeeper at Fort Dodge Gas and Electric. The family moved to Des Moines in 1972 where she was a homemaker and later worked at Stogdill’s TV & Appliance. They were members of Mount Olive Lutheran Church, where she spent many hours volunteering for the church and school.

Nancy and Gene loved to travel, especially taking cruises and exploring the United States, Mexico and the Caribbean.

Nancy is survived by her children, Steven, Jeffrey (Barbara) and Karen (Jill); grandchildren, Sarah (Matt), Alex, Marie (Taylor), Matthew (Kaylan), Emily (Jacob), Victoria and Priscilla; great grandchildren, Stella, Audrey, Marilyn, Marjorie, Cassidy and another one on the way; sister, Janice. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Gene; infant son, Scott and infant grandson, Isaiah.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Mount Olive Lutheran Church and School.
