Oscar was born December 18, 2020, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Joshua and Jill (Figgins) Burns. Although Oscar never saw the outside of a NICU due to his Persistent Pulmonary Hypertension of a Newborn, his courage and fight were always inside him. On February 6th, we were blessed to have the opportunity of getting Oscar baptized by Father Steckel at the U of I Hospital, where Georgia and Charleigh were able to meet and bless him, and he and Oliver were reunited. Nine days later, we lost Oscar's spirit but didn't lose the love and compassion he brought to our family. We will miss out on the memories we never got to make, hugs we never gave and received, and dreams that he never got to dream. His twin brother, Oliver, will be an everlasting reminder of how special they both are, and how Oscar will forever be in our hearts.

He is survived by his parents Josh and Jill, sisters, Georgia and Charleigh, and twin brother, Oliver Patrick; grandparents, Edward and Lois Figgins of Atlantic, IA, and Gene and Karen Burns of Strawberry Point, IA; his great-grandmother, Lois Pierce of Arlington, IA; uncles, Craig Figgins & Jake Burns; aunts, Chantell Burns, Shelby Burns, and Brianne Burns; nine fun-loving cousins; and his godmother, Kristen Harris.

Contributions may be made on behalf of Oscar to the Ronald McDonald House in Iowa City, or to the family for a foundation to be named later. Online condolences will be welcomed at www.IlesCares.com.
