Patricia Hill Obituary

Patricia Mae Hill, age 72, of Pleasant Hill, Iowa peacefully passed away Monday, January 11th, 2021 in her home surrounded by her entire family. She was born to the late Samuel and Wilma Decker and raised with her older brother Samuel Dennis Decker. Patty graduated from Des Moines East High School in 1966 and worked at the Des Moines Public Library.

On October 11th, 1971, Patricia married her best friend John Robert (Jack) Hill. They took great pride in raising their two children Ryan Robert Hill and Megan Lynn Hill in the Pleasant Hill community. When she was not busy yelling at Jack or responding to his daily antics, she could be found doting on her four grandchildren, playing candy crush or mastering the slots at Prairie Meadows. Patricia’s devotion to her family was notorious and without boundaries. Her annual trips to Orange Beach, Alabama brought her great joy being surrounded by those she loved most.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, her son Ryan (Jennifer) Hill of Pleasant Hill, Iowa and daughter Megan Hill of Mandeville, Louisiana. She is preceded in death by her grandson Jackson Robert Fersch. She also leaves behind four loving grandchildren: Tarryn, Quentin, Sienna, and Logan.

To the simple way of thinking, life represents a well written book. Conceived with high hopes. Each letter, line, verse and chapter is written with care and love. As chapter follows chapter, from conception, birth and maturity, we each follow with fascination, the tales which unfold before us. Each chapter, a building block in the story of life. Now for our dear friend Patricia, the final letters have been written and the final chapter now must be closed.
