Paul Eby Obituary

Paul Eby, 75 of Urbandale, Iowa died Monday March 6, 2023 after a months-long battle with lymphoma. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 10 at 11am at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Des Moines, the family will receive guests 30 min beforehand. A visitation will be held at Iles Brandt Chapel in Dallas Center from 4-6pm on Thursday, March 9.

Paul grew up on a farm in Dallas Center before going to Iowa State for Farm Operations where he met his wife Jean on a blind date. They married May 31, 1970, and celebrated 52 years of marriage. The duo had two kids, Rebecca of San Jose, CA, and Don (Celeste) of Germantown WI and two granddaughters, Layla and Piper. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Maxine and sister-in-law Diane and survived by his three brothers, Bill (Karen), Karl (Judy), and Charlie.

He was a Soybean Breeder at Stine Seeds for many years which led him to drive many backroads in the Midwest, often in one of his BMWs. Paul loved being outdoors and enjoyed farming, even when he was living in town and only farming the lawn.

Paul’s sense of humor was always present, and he could find humor in any situation. He cared about his family and his community and will be sorely missed.
