Paul Lee Kilzer Obituary

Paul Lee Kilzer, 88, of Madrid, IA, passed away on January 2, 2025, at the Madrid Home.

Paul was born on September 24, 1936, in Muskogee, OK, to Leonard and Norma (Gannon) Kilzer. The family later moved to Lincoln, NE, where he graduated from high school. On April 13, 1958, he married Sharon E. Kinney in Sturgis, SD. In 1965, they settled in Madrid, IA, where Paul worked as a plumber and steamfitter for Local 33 in Des Moines until his retirement in 1998.

Paul enjoyed motorcycles, working in his garage, and fishing. He was a proud member of Local 33 and the Madrid Fire Department.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Patricia.

Paul is survived by his wife of 66 years, Sharon; two sons, Troy (Kim) Kilzer of Ames, IA, and Todd (Comeka) Kilzer of West Des Moines, IA; three grandchildren, Jonathan Nathinel, Anna Marie (Joseph), and Regan John; two great grandchildren Ronin Augustus and Elias Bennett and two sisters, Kay Jones and Crystal Ferguson, both of Lincoln, NE.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Iles Sundberg-Kirkpatrick Chapel in Madrid. Funeral services will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at the Sanborn Chapel at the Madrid Home. The burial will follow at a later date at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Madrid.
