Obituary

Raymond H. Davis died on Friday, October 22, 2004 at his home. Services will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 27, 2004 at Grandview Park Funeral Home. Burial will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Des Moines.

Raymond was born in Batavia, IA and served in the Navy during WWII, and he was a dedicated member of Pearl Harbor Survivors of WWII. He was a great supporter of AFL-CIO of Iowa, a member of Amvets & Instrumental in development of Amvets Post #2 in Des Moines, a member of the American Legion and the VFW. Ray was a kind and caring person who helped his family and was supportive of all veterans.

He is survived by his daughters, Linda (Mike) Day of West Des Moines, IA , Carol Irwin of Oklahoma City, OK and Judith Venteicher of Tacoma, WA; four grandchildren, Hollie, Jacob, Amber and Jared; three great-grandchildren and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Norma and his grandson, Samuel D. Irwin.

Visitation will be after 4 p.m. on Tuesday with family present from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Amvets Post #2, 2818 5 Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa 50313.
