Rebecca Hand Obituary

Rebecca “Becky” Hand, 76, passed away October 19, 2025 at Arbor Court, Mount Pleasant, IA. Visitation and services will be held at Iles Sundberg Kirkpatrick Chapel, 202 S. Market Street, Madrid, IA 50156. Visitation will be 5-7pm, Thursday, October 23, 2025 and a celebration of life will begin at 10:00am, Friday October 24, 2025. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, rural Madrid, IA.

Becky was born February 20, 1949 in Des Moines, Iowa to Robert and Thelma (Sturdivant) Krock. She graduated from Nevada High School, Nevada, Iowa in 1967. On August 24, 1974, she was united in marriage to Michael Hand. They were married at her parent’s home in rural Cambridge, Iowa. They made their home in Henry County, Iowa in Mount Pleasant and Salem.

Becky enjoyed socializing with her friends, the many vacations and trips with Mike and tending her indoor and outdoor cats. She also enjoyed her flower beds and mowing the yard, which always had a park-like setting under her care.

What is likely to be missed by everyone who knew Becky was her quick wit and her ability to put everyone at ease. Perhaps of all of her talents, this was likely responsible for the accumulation of so many wonderful and close friends. Most of all Becky was fiercely loved and her absence will be felt by all who knew her.

Becky is survived by her husband, Mike Hand of Salem; her brother, Danny (Tammy) Krock of Cambridge; nephew, William (Bre Tolley) Krock and family of Cambridge as well as many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
