Rex Jordan Obituary

Rex Jordan,88, left this life to see his Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 8, 2024. Funeral services will be on Saturday, August 17 at 11 AM at Iles Grandview Park where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Rex was born December 30, 1935 in Des Moines, Iowa to Clarence and Naomi Jordan. He grew up in Des Moines and graduated from Des Moines Tech high school. He worked many jobs throughout his life, including truck  dispatching, hardware, construction, and banking.

Rex loved serving God throughout his life through his churches and in his community. He loved cooking and his favorite activity was making and serving food for his family. Family meals would be planned days and weeks in advance and were always a delicious adventure. Food was one of the many ways he showed love. He also enjoyed gardening, fishing, reading Louis l’Amour books and spending time with his grandkids.

Rex will be remembered by his beloved wife, Nancy Jordan of Des Moines, Iowa. Brother Ron (Leona) Jordan of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Sister Sandy (Mike) Schoeppner of Wichita, Kansas. Children Tom Jordan of Des Moines, Sherry (Matt) Judge of Des Moines, Doug (Carrie) Barnes of Montezuma, and Blake Barnes of Des Moines. His grandchildren Morgan Judge of Des Moines, Mason Judge of Des Moines, Jenna (Trent) Witt of Oskaloosa, Natosha Barnes of Montezuma, and Brianna Foubert of Montezuma. And his beloved cats, Spanky, and Jubilee.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, grandparents and son Gary Jordan of Des Moines
