Obituary

Rex Jenkins, 90, of Des Moines died Friday, April 6, 2007. Services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 10, at the Westover Funeral Home with burial at Masonic Cemetery.

Born in Bloomfield, Iowa, Mr. Jenkins had attended Iowa State College in Ames and had lived in Des Moines since 1942. He was an engineer and had retired as Director of Engineering from the Armstrong Rubber Co. after 35 years of service.

Mr. Jenkins was a member of Glen Echo Christian Church. He had belonged to several engineering societies and was past president and a life member of the Engineers Club of Des Moines. He was a 50-year member of Acanthus Masonic Lodge and was also a member of the Acanthus Eastern Star and the High Twelve Club.

He is survived by his wife, Naomi; son, Kenneth and wife, Maureen of Orlando, FL; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and sister.

Friends may call at Westover on Monday, April 9, from 5 to 7 p.m. where the family will be present.

Memorials may be made to Scottish Rite Park Good Brotherhood Fund or to the church.
