Dick Pigott, 82, passed away peacefully December 15, 2010 at the Kavanaugh House. He was surrounded by his loving family. Dick, who time and time again astounded his family with his amazing life force and ability to overcome serious health issues is finally at peace.

Dick was born July 28, 1928 to Fred and Patricia Pigott. Dick grew up in Des Moines and attended Roosevelt High School. He was always willing to share stories about his hunting and fishing trips with his dad and his hitch-hiking journeys across the country. After a semester at UNI, Dick joined his dad at Pigott, Inc. In his 50 years with Pigott, Inc., Dick helped establish the culture and values that have stood the test of time and make the company what it is today. Dick brought his own quiet brand of integrity, kindness and know-how that touched almost everyone with whom he came in contact. Those who worked with Dick during the 80's will never forget his pioneering spirit and passion for computers. He had remarkable foresight on how technology would impact business and our lives.

Dick's life revolved around his true love, Patty Pigott aka LL. They were married July 29, 1972 at Dick's favorite place on earth, in a home he designed and built at the Lake of the Ozarks. He and Patty, along with their 6 children, spent countless summer days water skiing, swimming, boating, and even scuba diving at the lake. Growing up at the lake gave us memories with him that we will cherish forever.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his adoring wife of 38 years, Patricia; his children Sunny Gingerelli (Steve), Rick Pigott (Gini), John Stenberg (Stefanie), Wendy Stenberg, Susan Hughes (Jason), Jaimi Storm (Jason); his 18 amazing grandkids Richie, Brandon, Aaron, Audrey, Adam, Juan Pablo, Javier, Kaylee, Luke, Nate, Cameryn, Jared, Jacob, David, Blair, Cayden, Carder, Will; and his sister Sandra Zimmerman (Glenn).
Dad, we know you are in a better place...most likely piloting your plane south with a giant glass of iced tea. We will miss you dearly and will never forget the important lessons you taught us about life, love and family.

On Sunday, December 19, the family invites friends to The Wakonda Club between 1:30 and 4 p.m. to remember and celebrate Dick's life.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa.
