Obituary

Robert L. Kennedy passed away January 6, 2004 after a lengthy illness. He was born in Fort Dodge, but lived in Des Moines most of his life. He grew up in Highland Park and attended North High School. He worked as a carpenter most of his life and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #109.

Bob loved the Iowa Hawkeye's, reminiscing and socializing with friends about his fond memories. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving companion, Carol J. Whitten; daughters, Tera J. Kennedy-Bernardino and Tena Emery of Des Moines; son, Michael P. Kennedy of Madrid; and six grandchildren, Kathleen, Alyson, Alexander, Madisen Kennedy-Bernardino and Patrick Behle of Des Moines and Marista J. Kennedy of Madrid. He is also survived by his mother, Joan Kennedy; brothers, Michael Kennedy of Des Moines and Patrick Kennedy of Las Vegas NV; sister, Georgia Kennedy; stepmother, Edith Kennedy of Cahokia, IL; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard L. Kennedy.

He will be deeply missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing and loving him.

Private services for the family were held on Thursday, January 8, 2004.
