Beloved dad, Robert "Bob" Paul Stout passed away Wednesday, April 29th just short of his 60th birthday. Bob's earthly body was so very tired that God held out his hand and whispered, "Come with me." The strong spirit that was within Bob his entire life was with him during the last few weeks as he was gently called Home. He lived his life with integrity and bravery and was an example for all.

Bob was born May 2, 1949 in Grimes, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Margaret Forret Stout. He lived in Des Moines most of his life. He was known to family and friends for his love of fast cars and NASCAR.

He married Kris (Lafary) and three sons – Robert Jr., David and Joseph were born of their union. Although they divorced later in life, Kris remained a close friend throughout Bob's life.

He proudly served the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Upon his return from service, he worked at Firestone and retired in 1982.

Bob enjoyed the Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Bears and Cubs games. Collecting knives was his favorite hobby.

Memories of Bob will be held forever in the hearts of his loving family along with his friends. Children – Robert Stout, Jr. (Carrie), David Stout (Jennifer), and Joseph Stout; Grandsons – Maddux, Brody and Spencer and Granddaughters - Hannah and Meredith; Brothers – Tom Stout and Don Stout; and Sister – Mary Fetters (Randy).

Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m., on Sunday, May 3rd, at Iles Funeral Homes - Brandt Chapel in Dallas Center. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 4th, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Grimes. Burial will follow at Sunny Hill Cemetery in Grimes.
