Rose Reid, 90, passed away Monday, March 21, 2005 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be 3:00pm Wednesday at Assumption Catholic Church in Granger, of which she was a member, followed by burial at Beaver Catholic Cemetery there.

Rose was born September 4, 1914, the daughter of James and Mary Manning, and was a life long resident of Granger, Iowa. She was the head cashier at Sears and Roebuck at Merle Hay Mall and served as city clerk in Granger for 30 years. Rose enjoyed flower gardening and especially enjoyed spending time at Assumption Church.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clifford, her sisters Agnes Quade, Henrietta Tiernan, Catherine Rieck, and her brothers, Clement Manning, Patrick Manning, Jack Manning and Robert Manning.

Rose is survived by her children Cathy (Glenn) Jennewein of Overland Park, KS, Robert (Renee) Reid of Ankeny, Ronald (Jo) Reid of Nashville, TN, Ray (Bonet) Reid of Saylorville and Patrick (Mari) Reid of Des Moines, five grandchildren; Carrie Jennewein, Katie Jennewein, Janet Reid, Nick Reid and Grant Reid, brother James Manning of Granger, her sisters Sister Leona Mary Manning of Davenport and Rita Hettich of Dousman, WI.

Visitation begins after 3:00pmTuesday at Assumption Catholic Church where the family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00pm with a vigil service at 7:00pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Assumption Church, Assumption Catholic Woman’s Club or Granger American Legion Auxiliary.
