Obituary

We had to say our final goodbye to the amazing Rosemary Herman on January 11, 2024. This dearly loved woman was born on May 22, 1928, in Clifton, Minnesota to Alois and Idalie Vroman. Rosemary was a devout Catholic who was strong in faith and quick with wit. She was a proud Iowa State graduate who earned her degree by going to night school for 11 years while running Best Fast Printing and raising 9 children.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 10, 2024 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Waukee. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be 12:30 p.m., Friday, May 10, 2024 at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery near Van Meter.

Rosemary leaves behind a legacy of 9 children, 17 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. Those left to cherish her memory include daughters, Kathy Pons, Patricia Herman, Susan Gilman, and Maria Herman; sons, Jim (Peg) Herman, Thomas (Susan) Herman, David (Renee) Herman, Bill (Frances) Herman, and Joe (Leslie) Herman and a brother, Dick Vroman. Those who preceded her in death were her husband of 61 years, Joe; her son-in-law, John Pons, her sisters, Mary Battle and Josephine Tilleman, and brother, Donald Vroman.

We will miss the twinkle in her eye, but know that her family will make her proud every time they tease with love.

Online condolences are welcome at www.IlesCares.com.

Arrangements by Iles Brandt Chapel.
