Obituary

Ryan Charles August Hargens, 24, formerly of Des Moines, died January 30, 2005 in Sioux Falls, SD. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, February 4 at St. Mary's of Nazareth Catholic Church, with burial at Glendale Cemetery.

Ryan was born July 14, 1980 in Des Moines, Iowa. He was a customer relations representative for Wells Fargo Financial and a respite worker for challenged young people. He was an academic leader and an excellent rugby player.

He is survived by his parents, Roger and Jane Yetter Hargens of Johnston; sisters, Carey (Curt) Verschuure of Urbandale, Amanda, Adelina and Anorrea Hargens, all of Johnston; grandparents, Chuck and Rose Yetter of Adel; uncle and Godparents, Jack (Gayla) Hargens of Denison; uncles, George Hargens, Patrick Yetter of Adel, Ben (Tammy) Yetter and their children, MacKailey and Madison of Des Moines, Louis (Susan) Hargens of Charter Oak, Bill (Jody) Hargens of Council Bluffs, Bob (Lori) Hargens of Des Moines and Dean (Diane) Hargens of Denison; and aunt, Diann (Tom) Mackey of Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Eva Hargens and Louie Hargens, Sr.; cousin, Heather Hargens; uncle, Charlie Mike Yetter; and infant brother, Jeremy Hargens.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at St. Mary's of Nazareth Catholic Church, where a Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to either the Children & Families of Iowa, Big Brother/Big Sister or Beaver Brothers & Sisters at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, IA.
