Sheila Rae Seibert McGregor, 59, of West Des Moines, Iowa, peacefully passed away in her home on April 5th, 2021. She was loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her fun, witty, caring ways, and crazy love of pets!

Sheila was born on May 29th, 1961, the youngest daughter of Floyd and Ruby Seibert. She was raised in Adel, IA and graduated from Adel-DeSoto High School in 1979.

After high school she moved to West Des Moines and was employed with Northwestern Bell and Sprint Cellular. She enjoyed working in the communications field for years and was beloved by many customers and co-workers.

During her younger years of life she participated in cheerleading, track, softball, and basketball. Sheila’s Dad nicknamed her “Spike” because she was fast as a lightning strike.

She had a real love for music and dancing. Her faith was deepened in her thirties as she listened to Christian Contemporary music and attended First Assembly Church under Pastor Palmer’s leadership. Above all she developed a strong relationship with God, read daily devotions, and studied the Bible.

Sheila was blessed with two beautiful daughters. She is survived by Rikki McGregor of Des Moines, IA and Randi McGregor of Ankeny, IA. The lights of her heart and life were the seven grandchildren. Tyree Jr., Johnathon, Trinity, Jhezekiel, Myleigha, Giovanni, and Jaxon, will miss their Nana’s love deeply but will have many lasting memories.

Sheila is also survived by her sister, Susan Seibert Dawes of Kansas City, MO, Randall Seibert (Rose) Linden, IA, Dennis Seibert (Tresa) Nixa, MO, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

We will celebrate Sheila’s life on April 24th, at Lutheran Church of Hope + Elim. 2500 University Ave. Des Moines, IA 50311. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. where family will receive friends one hour prior to the service with the service following at 11:00 a.m. Private burial will be at Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry, Iowa, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate assistance with funeral costs. We truly appreciate all the love and support we have received over our beloved mom and sister’s death. We know she is at peace in heaven and rejoicing with her parents and all who have gone before her.

“May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be always at your back, may the sun shine warm upon your face, the rains fall soft upon your fields, and until we meet again, may GOD hold you in the palm of HIS hand.”
