Sheryl Houk Obituary

Sheryl L. Houk, 75, passed from this life on Friday, July 5, 2024 at her home in Urbandale.

Visitation will be held from 12 - 1pm, Friday, July 12, 2024 at Iles Westover Chapel, 6337 Hickman Road, Des Moines. A funeral service will follow beginning at 1pm at the chapel. Interment will be at Glendale Cemetery.

Sheryl was born on April 2, 1949 in Des Moines, Iowa to Eldon and Bonnie (Ennis) Brundage. She attended East High School. She worked in the health insurance industry for most of her career.

Sheryl was a creative, driven, passionate and multi-talented individual with a can do attitude. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved to spoil her great grandchildren, Atlas and Cosima “Coco”. At her core, she was a caregiver with a huge heart.

Sheryl is survived by her daughters, Barbara Bartemes (Kevin) and Pam (Mohamed) Farghaly; grandchildren, Jessica Bartemes, Joseph Bartemes, Seth Cloe and Jamie Cloe; great grandchildren, Atlas and Coco; sister, Jo Anna Houk (Rex) and several nieces, nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Michael Brundage and her son, Cory Houk.
