Shirley Renda Obituary

Join us in celebrating the life of Shirley Renda. Shirley had a way of making everyone feel special, whether through her thoughtful words, comforting hugs, or the countless acts of kindness she performed quietly and selflessly. Her ability to nurture and love extended beyond family, touching the lives of neighbors, friends, and anyone fortunate enough to cross her path.

Shirley was a warm and kind mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Born on April 30, 1938, Shirley lived a beautiful life and reunited with God surrounded by the love of her family on the morning of August 29, 2024.

She was a devoted mother to her children Tammy Keiter, Anthony Renda II, John Renda (Lynette), Traci Renda, and a loving grandmother to her five grandchildren, Bradley, Joseph, Mackenzie (Michael), Michaella, Brendan, and her great grandson, John.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Agnes Murphy, her sisters Beverly Murphy and Geraldine Tilton, as well as her son-in-law Frank Keiter.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church located at 2926 Beaver Avenue, Des Moines, IA. This will include visitation beginning at 9:00AM, mass of Catholic burial at 10:30AM, and followed by burial service at Glendale Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to the Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

Shirley’s focus, even in the face of death, was to make others feel loved. Her legacy of kindness will continue to inspire us every day. Please join us in celebrating her life.
