Obituary

Shirley Colleen Rinner, 83, passed away at her home on Sunday, September 8, 2019, with her family present. She was born May 6, 1936 in Allerton, Iowa to Miles & Ethel (Mackey) Timmons.

Shirley was a homemaker who doted on her family and friends. She was an excellent cook sharing her love in this service to her family. She loved to write cards and receive them, giving encouragement to others. Shirley was a member of Union Park Baptist Church in Des Moines. She lived her faith as a volunteer in “Cradle Roll” visiting young mothers giving advice, help, and positive energy. She was all action, not just words.

Survivors include sons, Craig (Nan) Rinner,& Jeff Rinner, grandchildren, Monica (Mike) Taylor, Candice (Dale) Shatto, Regina (Michael) Haag, Jacob Wiese, Courtney Rinner, Matt Rinner,& Sydney Rinner, great grandchildren, Brandon Shatto, Michelle Funke, Chloe Shatto, Roman Rinner, &Joseph Rinner.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Miles & Ethel Timmons, husband, William Peter Rinner, daughters, Rhonda Rae Brown, & Pamela Kaye Wiese, brothers, Freddie E. Timmons, & Howard Mills, sisters, Donna L. Hall, Ethel Hamilton, & Evelyn Mills, and great grandson, Xavier Rinner.

A funeral service will be at 11am, Friday, September, 13, 2019, Grandview Park Funeral Home, 3211 Hubbell Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa 50317. The family will greet friends 1 hour before the service.

A private burial will take place at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
