Sidney R. Bradley, 85, died Monday, February 28, 2005 at Wesley Acres following a long illness. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 4 at Plymouth Congregational Church, with burial at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines.

Sidney was born November 10, 1919 in Lincoln, NE. He served with the Army Air Corps during WWII and was a graduate of the University of Nebraska School of Journalism. Sidney was a police reporter and TV reporter for the Lincoln Journal Star, Director of Des Moines Industrial Bureau, Partner of Knapp and Bradley Commercial Real Estate and Vice President of Iowa Realty Commercial Brokers.

He was a member of Plymouth Congregational Church; member and officer of Society of Commercial and Office Realtors; member of First Model Cities Board; President of United Way of Central Iowa; Officer of the Better Business Bureau; member of Wakonda Club; and lifetime member of the University of Nebraska.

Mr. Bradley is survived by his wife, Barbara True Bradley; two daughters, Ann (Terry) Harrmann and Kay (Joel) Novak, all of Des Moines; one son, Sidney (Bonnie) Bradley of Iowa City; one brother, Dale Bradley of Oceanside, CA; four grandchildren, Nicole Thompson, Rebecca Denton, Joshua Novak and Benjamin Bradley; and one great-grandson, Cyd.

Memorial contributions may be made to either the United Way; Coalition for Family and Children Services; or a charity of the donor's choice.
