Obituary

Sister Lucia Kadolph (Sister Mary Lucia), 87, died Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at Bishop Drumm Retirement Center, Johnston, IA. Services at Bishop Drumm Our Lady of Peace Chapel are Monday, September 19 with a Rosary at 4 p.m. and Vigil at 7 p.m. Visitation at the Humility of Mary Center, Magnificat Chapel, 820 W. Central Park Ave. Davenport is Tuesday, September 20 with a Rosary at 4 p.m. and Vigil at 7p.m. Funeral Mass is Wednesday, September 21, 11 a.m. in Magnificat Chapel. Burial follows in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Davenport.

Elizabeth Margaret Kadolph was born November 17, 1923 to Raymond and Linda Granner Kadolph in Eldora, IA. On January 8, 1944, she entered the Congregation of the Humility of Mary, professing vows on July 17, 1946. She received her AA in Elementary Education from Ottumwa Heights College and BA from College of Great Falls in Montana.

Her life ministry was in education, teaching at Iowa schools in Cosgrove, Ottumwa, Des Moines, Marshalltown, and Davenport. She also taught in Rock Island, IL and in Great Falls and Lewistown, Montana. She retired to the Humility of Mary Center in 2005 and then to Bishop Drumm in 2010, where she resided until her death.

Sister Lucia was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Edna Flanders and Audrey Kadolph. She is survived by her brother, Lawrence; sisters, Gail Lawler and Ruth Gogerty; numerous nieces and nephews, as well as Sisters and Associates of her CHM community.

Memorials may be made to the Congregation of the Humility of Mary.
