Obituary

Susan Jacob was born on October 7, 1959 and entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at 8:18 pm. She was the youngest of the four daughters of Cherian and Rachel Jacob and was diagnosed with Down's syndrome at birth. Her early years were spent in Madras, India with her parents.

In 1990, she migrated to the USA with her parents to join her three older sisters, who were settled here. Susan was enrolled into the program at Johnson County Developmental Services (JCDS) and lived in one of their group homes. She was well cared for at JCDS and was diagnosed with cancer of the bile duct in August. She was a very loving and cheerful person and will be missed greatly by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, who passed away in April 2010 and July 2011. She is survived by her sisters, Crissy (Rajan) Kaleekal of Lenexa, KS, Elizabeth (John) Manaloor of Augusta, GA and Saramma (C J) Alexander of Waukee, IA, as well as 2 nieces, Minnie and Sneha, 4 nephews, Jacob, John, Sumodh and Sunil, 3 grandnephews, Benjamin, Isaac and Nicholas and two grandnieces, Nithya and Sathya.

A Memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 29 at Charter Funerals, 10250 Shawnee Mission Parkway, Merriam, KS, with visitation beginning at 4:00 p.m. Interment will be at the Waukee Cemetery in Iowa beside her parents on Friday around 2:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to JCDS, Overland Park or Kansas City Hospice, KCMO.
