Obituary

On the 4th of July, 2024, her favorite holiday, Tami Ann Biggerstaff, of Urbandale, Iowa, passed due to a short, but strong fight against lung cancer.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Christ The King Lutheran Church, 600 1st Ave N, Altoona, Iowa 50009.

In lieu of a visitation, please join the family following the service for a Celebration of Life at the Rewind Hotel, 6075 Mills Civic Parkway, West Des Moines, IA 50266 from 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. to share memories, fellowship, food and refreshments. Feel free to drop by anytime during these hours. Cremation rites have been accorded.

Tami was born on October 15, 1957 to Carl and Selma (Schnaare) Mosser in Staunton, Illinois. Tami married James (Jim) Edward Biggerstaff on May 3, 1980. They met at The Gardens in Springfield, Illinois. They were blessed with two daughters, Tara and Marissa. Jim and Tami moved to Carroll, Iowa, in 1984. After the passing of her husband, she moved to Urbandale, Iowa, in 2015, to be near her daughters and granddaughters.

Tami enjoyed spending time and volunteering in church and music with her talents of organ and piano. She found great joy with her grandkids, watching them grow, and attending as many of their activities as possible. She had a love for dogs and teaching music. In her spare time, she gardened, went to concerts with friends and family, did a lot of shopping, traveled to see family near St. Louis, and attend the Muni theater. Her faith, summer, the sun, and warm weather recharged and invigorated life for her.

She is survived by her daughter, Tara (Cory) Elkin of Roanoke, Texas - granddaughters, Michelle, Ireland, Adrianna, Coral, and Shaelyn, great granddaughters Ella, Ayla, Grace, and Isla; her daughter, Marissa (Jake) Brown of Urbandale, Iowa - granddaughters, Nora Jo and Madeline Ann, sister-in-law Eleanor Mosser as well as many close friends, nieces, nephews, cousins and their families. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; parents, and brother, Terry Mosser.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Urbandale Performing Arts Booster Club, 7111 Aurora Avenue, Urbandale, Iowa 50323. For those unable to attend, the funeral will be livestreamed.
