Obituary

Virginia Reichenbach, 88, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2003 at her son's home in Overland Park, KS. Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, November 23 at Brandt Funeral Home in Dallas Center where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow services at Rose Hill Cemetery near Luther, Iowa.

Virginia was born in Iowa City, Iowa and lived in the Des Moines several years before moving to Grimes in 1956. She and her family operated Rick's Hatchery in Des Moines and then Reichenbach Farms in Grimes. She had also worked for several years at Look Magazine in Des Moines.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Fred B. Reichenbach; parents, John Clark and Jessie Clark Bettis; and sister, Mildred Mack. She is survived by three sons, Russell and Barbara of Santa Fe, Tocantins, Brazil, S.A., Jim and Mary Ann of Overland Park, KS, and Fred A. (Fritz) of Grimes; her sister, Hildred Stenstrom of Des Moines; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to K.C. Hospice in Lenexa, KS, Cancer Action in Kansas City or a charity of the donor's choice.
