William “Billy” Howard, 76, of San Antonio, TX, formerly of Woodward, passed from this life on August 23, 2007, at Normandy Terrace Southeast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in San Antonio, TX. A memorial mass will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 6, at Assumption Catholic Church in Granger, Iowa. Burial will take place at Sheridan Cemetery, at rural Grinnell, Iowa.

Billy was born on November 25, 1930 in Sioux City, Iowa to Jerald V. and Virginia Dennison. He was employed with the Woodward Resource Center in Woodward for nearly 45 years, until his retirement. Billy was a member of the AFSCME Local 2990 Union for more than 40 years, the Woodward Lions Club and Boys Town in Omaha, NE.

He is survived and lovingly remembered by his brother, James L. (Patricia) Howard of San Antonio, TX; five nieces and nephews, Suzanne (Jerry) Hughes of San Antonio, Mike Shamoon of Houston, TX and Robert Howard, Thomas (Rachel) Howard and Victoria Howard all of San Antonio; several great-nieces and great-nephews and many great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. Billy was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Mary Howard on December 4, 1995.

In lieu of flowers, the family has respectfully requested that any memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
